How to reach Masai Mara from India?
The fastest way to reach Masai Mara from India is by air. The nearest airport to the park is Nairobi Wilson Airport, and flights from Mumbai, Delhi to Nairobi take about 6-7 hours.
After arriving in Nairobi, you can choose to either drive to the Masai Mara (about 6 hours) or take a short flight (45 minutes) to one of the many airstrips here.

Things to do in Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is one of the most iconic national parks in the world, and the most famous kenyaKnown for its vast landscapes, dense wildlife populations and unforgettable experiences such as the Great Migration. This is a place where you can wake up to the sound of lions roaring in the distance, see elephants at a watering hole, or watch the African sunset bathe the savannah in shades of orange and gold.
With rolling hills, vast plains and dense riverine forests stretching for miles, the reserve is home to countless species of animals, including lions, cheetahs, leopards and elephants, which roam free and wild. The annual Great Migration, where more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles cross the Mara River, is definitely a bucket list experience here.

Apart from the iconic game drives, Masai Mara also offers hot air balloon rides at sunrise, which is a must for couples. You can also head to a traditional Maasai tribal village to get a glimpse of the local culture or go on a guided walking/horseback trip across the vast savanna.
Best time to visit Masai Mara
The best time to explore the Masai Mara is during the dry season from July to October, which coincides with the Great Migration. However, the park is a year-round destination, with plenty to offer throughout the rest of the year. November is often considered the cheapest month to travel to Kenya.
