Nepal: situation after the earthquake
A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck near the Nepal-Tibet border, killing at least 53 people and causing widespread aftershocks in parts of India, including Bihar, Assam and West Bengal. The epicenter of the earthquake, Tingri County in the Shigatse region of Tibet, is the gateway to Mount Everest tourism and is now suffering significant damage. Additional aftershocks have further worsened the devastation, making travel in the area unsafe. If Nepal was on your list, it is best to postpone your plans until the situation stabilizes.
United States: winter storm warning
Central America is battling a devastating winter storm that has caused chaos in many states.
