A plate of Gajar Ka Halwa is like food for your soul in cold weather. The Indian sweet is prepared from a mixture of grated carrots, milk and sugar. A spoonful of desi ghee adds aroma and flavor to this sweet dish. Carrot Halwa makes winter a delightful season. Don’t know about you, but famous fashion designer and entrepreneur Tan France completely agrees with us. His latest Instagram entry serves as proof. The foodie has released a video to introduce her easy Gajar Ka Halwa recipe to her followers.

In the video, Tan France starts the preparation by grating the carrots before adding them to a pan. Next a drop of ghee is added. He recommends cooking the mixture over medium-high heat for five minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Milk is then poured into the pan and cooked on low flame for about an hour. After this, Tan France grinds the cardamom and adds it to the pan. “I put them in the pan about 10 to 15 minutes before cooking,” he says. “Then add the raisins to the pan, followed by a sprinkle of coarse brown sugar.
Ready for the final step? Tan France chopped some pistachios and sprinkled them on top of the carrot pudding. He admits, “I think it’s one of the best desserts you can make and it’s so simple.” Drooling already?
