Indian Railways is all set to redefine travel in Jammu and Kashmir and this is very evident in the newly-designed Vande Bharat Express for Katra-Srinagar route. Keeping in mind the comfort of each and every passenger, the special train has been designed to tackle the harsh winter conditions of the region.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared a special video showcasing the Vande Bharat Express on her official X handle. The video shows how this train has been designed to provide uninterrupted service even in sub-zero temperatures.

This Vande Bharat Express has some of the most prominent upgrades, which include:

• Advanced Heating Systems: These prevent water and bio-toilet tanks from freezing.
• air brake system heating: It maintains optimum braking performance in sub-zero temperatures.
• silicone heating pad: Equipped with overheat protection sensor for safe operation.
• Auto-draining mechanism: Prevents water from freezing when the train is standing.

Meanwhile, Kerala recently saw the introduction of its first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, making it much easier for travelers to explore the two gorgeous southern cities. This is the third 20-coach Vande Bharat Express in India, with the other trains running on two routes – New Delhi-Varanasi and Nagpur-Secunderabad routes.

Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to operate at a maximum speed of 130 km/hr, making it one of the fastest train services in the state. The journey between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, which usually takes around 12 hours by conventional trains, will now be completed in just under 8 hours. The train departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 5:15 am and reaches Kasaragod at 1:20 pm.
